Reflexology is an ancient healing art which was use thousands of years. The Chinese are said to have used early forms of reflexology for more than 5000 years. Egyptian tomb artwork showing foot massage goes back over 2000 years. It was introduced to the western world in the 1920s
Reflexology is the practice of working on the reflex points of the feet to produce a reaction and relaxation in the corresponding part of the body.
The body has a natural ability to heal itself and reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the bodies natural equilibrium, encouraging healing.
Precise, alternate on / off pressure of a reflexology treatment helps to break down the build up of waste matter. Uric acid and calcium crystals around the reflex areas are dispersed. This helps the energy flow along the zones and opening blocked nerve pathways in the body.
A detailed confidential, consultation will be taken about past and present, health and lifestyle.
As it is just your feet that are being worked on, you remain full clothed. Only your shoes and socks will be removed and your feet placed on a foot stool.
A full treatment will be given by using the precise application of pressure on specific areas of the foot adapted to suit your specific needs. Whilst this is a relaxing experience there may be some tenderness if there is an imbalance in the body, but everyone is different. Pressure is adjusted to suit you sensitivity. Ticklishness is not usually a problem.
The first consultation takes approx. one hour and fifteen minutes. This includes the initial consultation and a treatment. Client will be assessed before and after every treatment. Subsequent treatments take approx. fifty minutes. After your treatment it is advisable to rest , this helps your bodys natural healing process. Also drink plenty of water to assist the body in flushing away toxins.
